Amarillo® Hops (Whole Cone)

Amarillo® hops have become super popular with micro-brewers. Brewers are describing the flavor and aroma as a supercharged version of Cascade. Floral, tropical, and citrus (lemon, orange and grapefruit) characteristics. However, it has a distinctive Orange character to it that is very different from Cascade. Supply has been very limited the last few years so make sure to buy some while it is available. Whole cone hops are typically the preferred format for dry hopping as they maintain contact with the beer by floating, they are easier to remove than pellets and they add a unique character to the beer. Adding whole cone hops directly to the mash tun is also a great way to add flavor and clarify your wort.
